I've been tagged!

I've been tagged by Nicole to share 7 random facts about myself.

Here are the rules:
1.Link to your tagger and post these rules on your blog.
2.Share 7 facts about yourself on your blog, some random, some weird.
3.Tag 7 people at the end of your post by leaving their names as well as links to their blogs.
4.Let them know they are tagged by leaving a comment on their blog.

Uh, here it goes:

1. I have a tattoo (or tramp stamp as its called these days) of a sunflower on my lower back that I got as soon as I turned 18 (such a rebel-LOL) Probably the dumbest thing I have done to myself is getting my belly button pierced in college because that turns out really well after being pregnant

2. My family calls me a "pit bull" because once I get something in my head or I feel strongly about something I am not easily deterred from my goal. I enjoy confrontation which is a really weird personality trait.

3. I hold the Michigan State school record in the balance beam , a 9.95. However I am extremely clumsy and trip and fall quite often.

4. I have 0 sense of direction and I have always been a terrible driver. If someone is in the car with me I am even worse.

5. My husband and I do our own laundry like we are roommates in college. He also does most of the cooking. June Cleaver I am not.

6. I am a type A organized freak. I can't stand clutter, I am an obsessive list maker, and I am the queen multitasking. I sometimes think I am the opposite of ADD and get so focused on something I literally can't pull myself away.

7. I LOVE naps. I wish I could take one every day. Sometimes when I am working (I am a drug rep) I put the seat back and take a little snooze in my car!

So there you go, my 7 sort of random facts. I don't have that many blog friends yet so I tag Stephanie, Kari, and Nicki.

First Easter

Here is our Easter weekend recap and a ton of pictures (a bit late). Saturday we attempted to see the Easter Bunny at Westwood Mall but the line was ridiculously long and Adam imformed me 1.) she doesn't even know what or who the Easter Bunny is and 2.) He was not standing in that line with all the weirdos of Jackson (jeez, what a snob :}). So we looked at DSLR cameras at Ritz instead and then had dinner at the Hunt Club. On Sunday we went to Church with my mom and dad. Grace wore a dress I got before she was even born on sale at Gap after last Easter. I had just found out she was a girl and I was so excited to buy a frilly, girly dress. I have been waiting and waiting for her to wear it.
"Uh, mom I just sat thru an hour an a half of church and you want to take pictures of me now?"
"Noooooo! No more pictures!"

"Alright fine, if you must photograph my cuteness..."

"Hey! Did the Easter Bunny come?!"
After church we went to my mom and dads for dinner with my brothers and their kids. It was so fun seeing the five cousins together- three babies under the age of 7 months! (pictures of that to come later). Grace of course slept for a grand total of an hour and a half the whole day so she was pretty tired by the time we went to Grandma and Grandpa Wilsons (Grace's GREAT grandparents or "GG's").

"Now Grandma Ann and Alexis want to see my pretty dress."

"Alright, got some cool shades and a beach towel in my basket that the Easter Bunny left at Grandma's"
We had such a crazy day there was no time for her to get her basket from the Easter Bunny at our house. So, we did it today. Yeah, I know parent of the year award but its not like she knows the difference.
"It is still Easter? Another basket?"

"Hmmm, what's in here? A bunny, remote control, some little people eggs...."

"...And a book!"

"I LOVE BOOKS!!"
And Dooley, who never wants to miss out on the fun..."

Happy (Belated) Easter!!

"Uh-Oh"

Ladies and gentlemen we have an official first word. Drumroll please... it...is... "uh-oh".

Grace has added this to her current vocabulary of "Ah-wah" and "Ba". This has come as a result of throwing, sliding, pushing things onto the floor and then saying, "Uh-oh". Its pretty much the cutest thing ever so I haven't told her its not an "uh-oh" when you do it on purpose. Actually it wasn't that cute at the Hunt Club tonight when she did it about 75 times and I had to keep picking her toys up off the floor.

I must give credit where credit is due and this lovely 1st word is compliments of Nana and Papa. They spend all day picking up her toys that she throws, slides, pushes onto the floor. She has Nana and Papa very well trained :)

Extreme Makeover: Blog Edition

Okay I don't know how extreme it is but it is better than what I used to have. It is a lot of purple but I think I like the new colors and banner (thanks to Nicole for her help). I also have a new name "This Journey Called Life". One of my favorite sayings is "Life is a journey, not a destination". It means we should enjoy the moment and live in the now instead of running around like crazy, overscheduled, stressed out people. It's something I'm working on and need to remind myself of often :)

We are in makeover mode around here. I have been on a serious diet for the last two weeks and 1 day (not that I'm counting- LOL) and I have lost 6 pounds. 10 more to go! It's a low carb packaged food thing and it sucks. I can't use the excuse I just had a baby anymore so something had to be done. I can't wait until its stops SNOWING so we can go for walks. Hopefully that will take care of the rest of the poundage so I can actually get in the pool or lake with my daughter this summer without feeling completely embarrassed. Now if only there were a cure for stretch marks...

Sunday Nights

I hate Sunday night. I have ever since I was a kid. When I was in school it was the dreaded homework Sunday night. When I was in college it was studying. Every job I have had since then it has been expense reports, e-mails, schedules, voicemails, and excel spreadsheets, BLEH. Maybe if I didn't procrastinate I wouldn't dread it so much. Story of my life :)

Once again it is Sunday night and I am left wondering, "Where did the weekend go?"

I went scrapbooking on Friday night with Nicole, LeeAnn, Katie, and Leslie. It was so much fun! I forgot how much I like to scrapbook and I feel like I made some cool new friends! Saturday night we went to a St. Patty's Day party at Dave and Sadie's house (friends from high school). It was fun to see Sarah and Steph and Adam of course had a ball with all "his boys". Today it was church with my mom and dad for Palm Sunday and lunch at the Olive Garden. Tonight we went to Tanner's 14th birthday party. Now I am just sitting here blogging because I don't feel like doing a stupid expense report. Like I said- procrastination.

I took some pics of Grace yesterday because I feel like it has been a while. She is little Miss Octopus Arms right now and wants to grab the camera and the string hanging off it so she makes it kind of difficult.

She is like, "Ooooh, shiny silver thing..."

" Can I have it? I kinda wanna put it in my mouth..."

"Almost got it..." "Ah HA!!! I got it!!"

You will happy to know things are all cleared up on the pooping front. She is pretty much back to her crazy self.

My baby is pooping walnuts...

Grace has trouble at both ends. She is extremely constipated and teething. Before I had kids I swore I was not going to be one of those mom's obsessed with their baby's poo. But, here I am obsessed. Whenever someone other that myself encounters a dirty diaper I have to ask, "Was it soft? What color? Clay like? How much?". Adam looks at me like I have horns growing out of my head and is like, "I don't know, clay-like?"

Right now she is pooping walnut sized dry hard balls. That is, when she can get them out. Can you imagine how much that would hurt in her tiny little intestines and even tinier exit? She is so uncomfortable she isn't eating much, sleeping much and just isn't herself. She does this awful cry that breaks my heart. I have some serious mommy guilt about going scrapbooking tonight.

Poor kid.

In My Arms

I heard a new song on my XM radio yesterday that is beautiful. It's called "In My Arms" and the artist is "Plumb". I thought other mommies out there would enjoy it so here is the song and here are the lyrics:

Your baby blues
So full of wonder
Your Curly Que's
Your contagious smile
And as I watch
You start to grow up
All I can do is hold you tight
Knowing

Clouds will rage in
Storms will race in
But you will be safe in my arms
Rains will pour down
Waves will crash all around
But you will be safe in my arms

Story books
Are full of fairy-tales
Of kings and queens
And the bluest skies
My heart is torn just in knowing
You'll someday see
The truth for lies

Clouds will rage in
Storms will race in
But you will be safe in my arms
Rains will pour down
Waves will crash all around
But you will be safe in my arms

Castles they might crumble
Dreams may not come true
Cause you are never all alone
Cause I will always
Always love you

Hey I
Hey I
Will love

Clouds will rage in
Storms will race in
But you will be safe in my arms
Rains will pour down
Waves will crash all around
But you will be safe in my arms

In my arms

Ramblings

My mom and I went to Babies R Us today to use the 15% coupon and buy two more car seats. We got one we registered for but need another one for Adam's truck and my mom's Durango. I found out thanks to Nicki yesterday that car seats expire! Did you know this? Apparently they can't guarantee them after a certain amount of time and it varies from manufacturer to manufacturer. Every seat is stamped with the date it was manufactured.

Now is this just a big hoax to get you to buy more car seats or an actual thing? According to Britax they last 6 years. There things are at least 200 bucks a pop. So they will only last through two kids at the most? I also couldn't decide if I should get my mom the Britax too or go with a cheaper one. I ended up getting the Graco Comfort Sport for her car. Which is not rated on Consumer Reports so I hope its good.

Anwho that was my day today. We are going over to my mom and dad's tonight to put a crib together for Luke because he is going to start going to my mom and dad's next week. Did I mention that my mom is going to teach the rest of the year for a 3rd grade teacher who has cancer. Yup, that means my dad, home alone, with TWO babies.

I think Grace is teething. I don't see anything but she has had a low grade fever, been kinda grumpy, and has diaper rash. She is yelling in her crib right now. She was a trooper through all the shopping at Briarwood and Babies R Us today. I am passing the shopping torch to the next generation :)

7 Months

Grace is 7 months old today. Here are a few things that sum her up right now:
  • she is babbling like crazy. Her favorite words are "Ba", "Ah-Wah", and "Wah". She also enjoys screaming and squealing. Usually goes something like this: "Ah-wha, wha, wha, wha, wah.....mmmm BA! Ba, Ah-Wha, Wha. " You repeat these sounds and she thinks she is having a conversation with you.
  • She weighed 17 lbs 2 oz at her 6 month check up. Adam weighed her yesterday on our scale at home and she was 18 lbs.
  • She's been sitting up on her own for about 2 months and rarely topples over anymore.
  • No sign of teeth and when you put her on her tummy she wiggles for a bit then just puts her head down
  • We are just about ready to move her to her convertible car seat.
  • She has a stuffed dog at my mom's house that she enjoys sucking on the ear of, she loves her George doll and stuffed Dooley at home.
  • She hates to lay down, EVER (unless she's sleeping). Changing her diaper has become quite the wresting match.
  • She just figured out that she has these really cool things on the end of her arms called hands and she puts her hand up in the air and stares at it in fascination. Adam thinks she is waving.
  • I am officially done breastfeeding as of two days ago. The transition has been a lot harder on me than her. I had no idea that I would end up enjoying it so much and that it would become our special time. BUT I am glad to finally have all of my body back after having another human live off of it for the last 16 months. My days of pumping in the car are thankfully behind me as well.

Baby Belly

My crazy baby likes to pull her dress over her head. This kid has had a grand total of 1 hour and 20 minutes of sleep the WHOLE day today and she is this happy. No naps because we went to a baby shower today for Kelli Arbuckle. She was passed around to all of her great aunts who made a big fuss over her. I hope she is always this easy to take places and happy being held by everyone.
